Got two 8-9week old bucks (New Zealands) from Faint Family Farm today. I am looking forward to Chris' rabbit raising class in a few weeks and the Butchering class in the future. If I can handle the Butchering part I will get a couple of breeding rabbits. Because of the heat they are being kept in my Enclosed porch room to keep cool. I figure if I can do this I can do anything.

My tricky one got loose not sure how. he probably squeezed through where I latch I am going to try again tonight and see what happens. He also climbed up some boxes. He is a curious little cus. I am really not too concerned there are not cords to chew. Just a few cardboard boxes I am storing the area is safe for roaming.

the bucks are growing very fast so I have a question. can they jump out of or climbout of a three foot puppy playpen??? I am not ready to invest in another cage until after the butchering class.

I haven't been scratched in days now. Thats a good thing. The little guys have settled in and seem to be happy. My little red one excaped from the playpen today and went exploring but since it is a safe area anyway no harm. They are quite entertaining when I transfer them from thier cage to the pen. Its like a bunny ballet.
