Henry and Sophie are the Beginnings of my Meat Rabbit Project. Sophie is a White New Zealand Doe and

Henry is a cross between White and Black New Zealand. He has coloring similar to a Silverpoint siamese cat. His Gaurd hairs are cream colored and his undercoat is a light silver grey. His face, ears, tail and feet are darker grey. If I can find one more Doe that is 4-5 months old, I will be able to start breeding in about four months. 6 months if I wait for Sophie to mature. The sooner the better in my book. The sun was a bit too bright for Sophie so she has her eyes closed.

sitting here having early morning coffee off work today. Henry is running around loose downstairs. I have noticed Henry has been molting/shedding his kit coat and his new coat is coming in darker. Looks like when he is done he will be a nice silver. I am still searching for another, older Doe. I Hope to find another Doe Soon I don't want to wait another 4-5 months to breed.

Austin is a bit from Fort Hood. About an hour and a half.

Well today was nail trimming day for Henry. Alot easier than I thought it would be. Easier actually easier than trimming the nails on my Dogs. We got most of them done before he got antsy. I do think, however, that it is more or a two person job. One to hold and stroke the bunny chin and one to clip.

I figure if you're going to eat meat, you might as well know where it comes from. Keep us posted on the project, eh?
