I had started an additional garden plot in my grandfathers back yard. About two weeks ago I planted corn. No sooner have the seedlings come up than the birds have plucked out my beautiful seedlings and stolen the corn seed. So depressing after all of the excitement of the seedlings finally making an appearance. So I have purchased some bird netting and I am starting over. I am soaking the seeds now and plan on planting tonight.

I was so worried about the rabbits I forgot about attacks for the Air. Beware there are Doves with Corn Radar out there

I used the computer disks too when I was doing a large area but they just look like computer disks hanging from trees. The mirrors are very cool and add a neat kind of sparkle at different times of the day and night. You will see a flash of light moving and then realize it is the mirrors. Transparent colored beads look pretty on them.

I saw an idea where they used old computer disks and hung them around the garden, did the same job as the mirrors, just cheaper!

Great idea! I love garden bling and hanging small mirrors will look lovely in my garden.

I found that birds don't like these mirror decorations I have hanging around my garden. I love them as they catch the afternoon light and look like fireflies dancing around the garden. At night they also catch available light and add some sparkle. I bought mine but you can make them by buying a package or two of little round or square mirrors which I found at JoAnne's, strong fishing line or bead wire, and some beads. Make some kind of loop to hang them from a tree or whatever with the line or tie it onto something decorative that you can hang, glue mirrors back to back on the line, string beads in between, alternate with the mirrors and beads so that they are a about two feet long and then hang them up. Have very few birds visit my garden, don't seem to bother the hummingbirds though.

I never had a problem with little birds feasting on my vegetables before until now! I also picked up some bird netting yesterday. They ate almost all of my spinach and lettuce!
