We will have to attend one of your classes to really know. While I love the idea of saving tires from a dump. There is no way of knowing what they might leech into the soil.

Earthship walls systems are made of ramming earth into recycled tires. This creates a dense wall that has thermal mass. Monolithic adobe/cob is a mixture of clay (slaked) sand and straw and applied while wet so it is very pliable. It is also very dense (of course you decide the width of the wall) and has thermal mass properties. Both a quite labor intensive. Some prefer to save tires from landfills and others don't want to surround themselves with rubber. It also depends on what is available to your building site.

Carlos Bill,

This type of building sounds fascinating.  How does monolithic adobe construction compare with an earth ship.
