My raised asparagus bed has become a thriving mass of lady bug larvae in various stages.  At least I hope these are ladybugs.  Please reassure me if you concur or let me know ASAP if I am harboring something that will ravage my garden in the spring.  The first two photos are of the side and corner of the raised bed, one a close up and the other a more distant view. By the way, the ground around this box is teeming with them also.  And then some of the dried foliage to show the larvae there.  Hope to hear from some of you.  Thanks.

wow, your weather there must be pretty warm!

in las vegas, lady's don't normally show up like that  in great numbers, and  in various developmental stages until late winter or early spring.

am thinking the relatively warm december made them feel like it is already springtime.

yup, lucky you. I can't remember what they call them when they gather like that. But they will likely overwinter there to emerge ravenously looking to feed on what is feeding on your plants.
