Yeah she was pregnant after all.  I was greeted this morning with 8 wiggling kits She must have pulled fur just before the event.  She seems to be a good mom  and was very ok with me checking out and trying to count the little wigglers. I just gave them a cursory look over this morning to make sure there were no casualties.

Treasa, with the depth of your nest box and the design of it, it will take a while until the kits are big enough to hop out... you should be good to go for a while with it in the way I saw it.  And they sure are nice healthy kits at that!

I should have been more specific.  its Hay (grass) .  The cage is on my enclosed (solid walls and windows)porch and I put on on small heater at night.  I have only seen one with open eyes so far but expect  things to start popping soon.   I am building  a new nest box tonight for my second doe.  this is day 26 and she is already eating less so I am expecting things to happen pretty quick with her.

I have decided to pack the bottom of the cage with grass as soon as they start popping up and out.  Some on the groups have said to lay the nest box on its side at two weeks so they are not jumping out and getting hurt.

what do you think of this.

They are growing fast all are doing great.  She is a good Doe.  Its easier to tell thier color now.  Some are black and some are silver.  Haven't lost any.  I am more than a little happy about that
