Call for Volunteers for Phoenix Food Day 2019

MarCo and the City of Phoenix want you to be a part of Phoenix Food Day 2019, a fun, educational, family-friendly event celebrating health and wellness.  Share your passion, knowledge, and meet fellow colleagues that are working together to make healthy food accessible for everyone.  This sixth annual event will be held on a Saturday in October 2018 (date to be determined) in the west Phoenix Area. More than 2,000 attendees are expected.

We are looking for volunteers to join the Phoenix Food Day Team in two ways:

1) On the Planning Team – participate in monthly, 1.5 to 2 hour meetings at City Hall and/or join or lead an Event Component group and work on specific parts of the event, such as, Cooking Demos, Healthy Kids Zone, Entertainment, Apple Crunch, Gardening Demos, Exhibitors, Event Marketing/Advertising, Food Day Café, or Sponsorship.  Monthly meetings take place from March to October.  Estimated time commitment: 30 hours for 8 monthly meetings, work within groups, and for the day of the event.

2) On the day of the event – volunteer to help set-up, teardown, staff welcome booths, help with cooking demos, etc.   Estimated time commitment:  2 to 4 hour blocks available.

Event volunteers get lots of accolades, refreshments, an awesome t-shirt, water bottle, and tote bag and the opportunity to meet great people!

Please contact Rosanne Albright at or Paris Masek at with your commitment and contact information by March 30.
