It's beautiful blue Monday and I thought I'd share the beauty of borage - an edible herb - flowers and all. I've got spots of it growing through our garden and have simply fallen in love with the beauty of this plant. It's a delicate blue star and quite exquisite!

It is beautiful. And to know that it is good to attract the bees is great. What conditions does it like, (soil type-sun or shade, etc.) Does it spread? Thanks, and the picture is great.

When did you plant it? I've planted mine in fall and in spring but have gotten nary a sprig. :(

Wow, the borage flower is, indeed, quite exquisite! I've been wanting to grow borage for quite some time. The essential oils distilled from borage have healing properties for extremely dry skin, a condition I have endured for my entire life. I would imagine consuming the plant would beneficial as well. It looks similar in structure to a tomato. I would love to try rooting some, if you could spare a few clippings.
