Last week, Mark & I went for a hike in the Apache reservation. Mt. Baldy had several Boletes, which was early for them. I was surprised, and then let down when I turned one over, only to see worms in them.
I plan on going to find more where I usually find them, in the next few weeks.
I did find several hundred wild strawberries, and walked with a handful for over an hour , waiting to give them to Mark, who was a mile behind me. Finally I ate them, and a few minutes later, he popped out behind me on the trail. to late for him.
I have some giant Puff balls in my home garden, and ate one the other day. it tasted sweet, and had the texture of a marshmallow.
The corals should be showing up soon. they usually are after the boletes by a few weeks.
anyone interested in a foray should join the Az mushroom club . go to the website. the first foray of the season is August 16-17th . I need to go a few days before them, since I suspect they will be going to my secret spot on the mountain.

Eric, I just opened up my newsletter for the AZ Mushroom Club today, and the season for morels is soon upon us. I am guessing within a few weeks.
I know Jay J is interested in going to Flagstaff to look for the morels, as well as Mary , and i hope all of you guys and gals can attend.
I promise to keep you posted.

This is Eric from Life's a Garden. Are you living on the mountain these days? We're down here waiting for the morels to pop. Any word? Would love to meet up and hunt - let me know!
