I put a load of mulch on my entire yard (minus the garden beds) a few years ago. It has broken down very nicely. It is time for a new load, however APS is not currently delivering due to a long wait list. I found a load of pine wood chips. Would this work? I have several fruit trees (citrus, apple, peach, pomegranate) in the yard. I am mostly looking for ground cover to keep the weeds at bay and to rejuvenate my soil. Thoughts?

Just curious did it smother out burmuda grass

It kept weeds at bay. When I initially put it down, there was nothing but dirt in my backyard. I am not sure what the previous owners did to the yard, but nothing grew. I now have a tiny bit of bermuda growing along an edge, but I am able to pull it easily.
