I bought the 2pack strawberries in a grown bag last week. I'm waiting for them to arrive.

I have had this Japanese Eggplant since 7/08 and a flower here and there. So I just started pruning the heck out of it. If a leaf looked beat up and dying. I used my nails and snipped it off. Out came a new leaf and soon a branch. Now I have tons of blooms, and FINALLY a eggplant on it. I just noticed it Wednesday evening. I do remember that from biology class. You have to do that to inspire it to grow. It's a matter of survival.

The recent wildfires in the state of Victoria followed a very hot dry spell in southern Australia. Fire activity that started on the 7th of Feb is ongoing in that state. Australian vegetation is adapted to fire and many species rely on regular "burning off" for the successful germination of seed. "Fire stick" burning was practiced on a rotational basis by the indigenous aboriginal population for over 40,000 years. Since the European "invasion" 200 years ago this has by and large been halted.… Continue

On December 3, 2008, I had let my four hens out of their chicken tractor to stretch their legs and search for goodies. The oldest hen was 9 weeks old and the other three were 5 weeks.I was working in my home office. Every 10 minutes or so, I would get up to check on the young ladies. They were happily foraging in the backyard. One time, I got up and walked to peer out the french door. To my surprise, I saw the oldest bird, Eve, perched on the pool fence. I could see her back with its bronze… Continue

I live in Phoenix and just received a citation and summons to appear in court for my rain barrels. Considered "outdoor storage" "visible from outside of property boundaries". I have three barrels, side by side at the head of my driveway, plastic, food grade of course, with 50 gallons each of rain collected from the gutter on the front of my house. Apparently someone complained, and the citation was issued. Any feedback before my appearance in court?

It was brought to my attention recently that in the last class that I gave for the PDC on Alternate Money Systems that I did not provide enough facts to back up my statements on the Fed and what happened to the gold in Ft. Knox. I would like to provide the following information to back up those statements and provide you with further info. There are links at the end that provide even more info. Admittedly, this comes from a right wing web site, but I believe the facts are… Continue

I get updates from David Blume's organization and he is giving an energy independance workshop this month. I asked them when he would be coming to Phoenix. They said that if there was enough interest in the workshop in our area they could book one. We just have to let them know if we are interested.

The last time I wrote I talked about just tossing the seeds in the container with the Hungry cherry tomato. I'm very happy to report I have all kinds of seedlings coming up! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!
My Sweet 100's tomato has a set of blooms that are open and it's looking good. There are like 4 groupings of blooms. I hope that they all do well.

I threw some marigolds, baby carrots, cilantro in with my Hungry cherry tomato plant. I have my lemon thyme still, and my lavender. I bought 2 peonies at Home Depot last time they had a sale. I have amended the soil with coffee grounds and bone meal off and on. My mint is doing wonderful. It has new plants coming up all over the container. My banana trees are still alive. I'm going to be planting my bush green beans soon. I have to research if they are a one plant per container kinda plant. I… Continue
