Community Gardeners of Maricopa County

CGMC is a new cooperative venture comprised of existing community garden practioners and others wanting to bolster the community garden scene in the Valley of the Sun. We meet monthly and are steadily advancing our goal of reaching out to every existing community garden in the county. Originally from Michigan and retired from education (teaching and administration) two years ago, I'm enjoying being in the garden again and organizing other gardeners. I previously lived and worked on a biodynamic farm in Norway and taught gardening for ten years at a private Waldorf school in Ann Arbor, MI.

Calling All Maricopa County Community Gardens: Organizing Retreat Meeting for New Coalition, Sep. 17

We're holding an organizational retreat on Saturday, Sep. 17 with the goal of creating a county-wide coalition/network/association of community gardens (CGs).

Greater Phoenix is one of the few large urban areas in the country without an existing network of CGs to provide support for CGs, increase skills, share resources, and advocate for CG-friendly policies in area municipalities.
