Intern/Worm Farmer/Composter

We are Abby Lee Farms, a large local hydroponic grower of tomatoes and cucumbers.  We want to compost all of our green waste using Vermiculture (worms).  We are looking for someone who wants to help us learn to compost using worms.

We want someone to work approximately 2 hours, three days a week anytime during business hours.

Duties will include:

  • Weekly feeding of worms
  • Casting collection and packaging
  • Monitoring and adjusting temperature and humidity of the worm farm
  • Turning and watering of outdoor compost piles
  • Breeding experiments
  • Assisting in obtaining compostable green waste

We want someone that is passionate about composting.  We prefer if you have some experience with worms.

If this goes well, a permanent full time position is possible.

Abby Lee Farms is located at 1150 W. Baseline in Phoenix.  You must be able to get to the farm no fewer than three days a week.  We will pay $12 hr.

I am a worm farmer, I live in south Phoenix, and just retired from the city of Phoenix. I would like to set up a time that I could come to visit your Abby Lee Farm.
